We are always very keen to improve our local area and surroundings for our families and community.
We are currently liaising with The Woodlands Trust and helping to develop an area of the new woodland walk that is underway in Maesteg.
We are also trying to improve the play area at Maesteg Welfare Park to make it more inclusive for all children to be able to play.
During term time we like to offer parents and carers the opportunity to attend workshops and training events. You must be a member in order to access this.

Parents and Carers can also enjoy lunches and other social gatherings. This October some of our members enjoyed an overnight ghost hunt with a 3 course meal at Craig y Nos Castle.
During the school holidays we like to keep our children busy with lots of fun activities and days out. This is also a nice opportunity for parents/carers to get together. To join any of our activities you must be a member.

Come and join us every Wednesday morning during term time for a coffee, chat and advice and to hear more about what we do at Special Families.
Coffee Morning is at Maesteg Sports Centre at 10.00am until 12.00pm and is open to members and non-members. We ask for a small donation of £1 for unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits. We also hold a raffle which is £1 per ticket.
